Description

John’s co-worker, Levi, complains about being invisible at work — and a flashback reveals just how desperate he is to get noticed. After some banter with Kara, their colleague who depends on coffee-mug mimosas to get through the day, John and Levi attend a staff meeting called by Janus, the new head of operations.

Director's Note

“Master of Disguise” contains four scenes from HANDICAPPED JOHN, two of which are cutaways to be edited with whip pans (the same technique used in the TV series 30 Rock). “Master of Disguise" is a wonderful project for beginners; it’s not difficult to cut, yet there are plenty of fun elements that make it interesting. Editors get to work with multi-cam footage and cut a dialog scene with five speaking characters — the kind of scene that’s awesome to practice with, but tough to come by in short films. The editor’s most challenging task? There are seven different camera angles in the staff meeting scene, and they all need to be used.
