Logline

After losing a playful "thumb war," against his girlfriend Amy, Jake goes through a grueling training regimen to reclaim the title...and his manhood.

Director's Note

Citizen Kane, Casablanca, The Godfather -- This movie has nothing in common with those. But does it need to 🤷‍♂️? Thumb War is like The Hangover or Bridesmaids but with a lower budget. LOL.

Jokes aside, comedy is always such a joy to edit. Movies are supposed to be fun, and what's funner than a silly rom-com? Thumb War follows a classic narrative story structure; a protagonist encounters a challenge in their life and goes on a quest to overcome it. While we labeled the project "beginner," that doesn't mean editing comedy is easy. You'll need to build montages from various improvised lines and acting performances. You'll need to make sure and balance the length of time for each story act. And most importantly, you need to make people laugh.
