About the Movie

At the start of an economic downturn during the late 1950s, the academic and ambitious Louise decided to change her fortunes using her beauty instead of her head. 

Logline

Set in 1950s Bronzeville, IL, Louise Parker faces eviction, the loss of a job, and family instability. Desperate to keep her hard-earned independent life, she accepts a lucrative opportunity to dance at a burlesque club. As Louise gains popularity and infamy, she must navigate a new self-image, plus the judgment of her mother and friends.

Director's Note

The production of Pictures Only is as professional as it gets. You'll work with well-shot dailies, plenty of coverage, and many scenes to assemble. The challenge will be stitching those scenes together, as they sometimes come one after the other in the same location. Putting together a 20-minute film is hard work. Editors should be willing to put in the time it takes to assemble this film.
