Pool Party EDU

  • Overview: Cheese's parents are out of town for the weekend and he decided to throw a pool party.  He's even built up the courage to invite over the girl he's crushing on. The trouble is that Cheese isn't the most popular kid at school due to some ache. In this scene Cheese is confronted by his crush. Watch as he tries to stay cool under pressure from his peers.

Class Suggestions: Pool Party is broken up into two main scenes, a montage in the pool, and a dialog scene on the back porch. The porch is an excellent scene to learn dialog subtext. What does each line of dialog really mean? The pool party is great to practice building a meaningful montage. We recommend this to all beginner editors.

The pool party scene does not contain any information that would not be appropriate for high schools. However, the full short film Reflections does contain scripted profanity, out-take profanity, underage drinking, and sexual references. We believe that this film is appropriate for all college age audiences, and some more liberal high schools.
