A Portrait of an Artist EDU

  • Overview: There are so many ways to express yourself. Artist Jason Jägel chooses painting murals. In this beautiful short film by director, Noe Chavez, we get to see an artist's way of giving back to a neighborhood he loves: San Francisco's Mission District.

Class Suggestions: A Portrait of an artist has no on camera interviews. This means the students will need to use transcripts to build a "radio cut" and then cover that with b-roll and music. There is tons of b-roll and no wrong way to edit this project. It's a perfect project for beginner editors.
